Preeclampsia is a serious disease related to high blood pressure during pregnancy that takes the lives of 76,000 mothers and 500,000 babies each year worldwide. It can happen to any pregnant woman during the second half of her pregnancy, or up to six weeks after delivery. Right now, there’s no known cure for preeclampsia or a way to prevent it. That’s why we walk.
The Preeclampsia Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing infant and maternal illness and death due to preeclampsia and related high blood disorders of pregnancy. The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia supports the mission of the Preeclampsia Foundation as we raise public awareness, catalyze research, provide patient education, and improve healthcare practices.
Would you like to volunteer with TBBN for this event? The local walk/fundraiser will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 8:00 AM in Gadsden Park in Tampa. We appreciate your help!
