I’ll provide emotional and physical support to a woman and her partner before, during, and after childbirth.
Help a mother navigate the various stages of labor and birth, working with the mother and medical staff to help ensure a safe and positive birth experience. This can include offering comfort measures such as massage, breathing techniques, and positions for labor and birth, as well as providing information about the options and interventions that may be offered during labor and birth.
As a breastfeeding educator, I provide education and support to mothers who are breastfeeding their babies. This can include teaching mothers about the anatomy and physiology of breastfeeding, helping mothers position their babies for breastfeeding, and assisting with latch and milk transfer. I can also help mothers understand how to tell if their babies are getting enough milk and provide guidance on managing common breastfeeding challenges such as sore nipples and engorgement. In addition, I can provide information on how to pump and store breast milk and offer tips on how to maintain a good milk supply.
